Subscription to a store generally offers their customers a package of benefits to maintain an ongoing relation with them. Subscriptions are usually made on the products which you are going to need continuously Reishi private label. Subscriptions can at times be made on the basis of daily, weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly, etc. Being subscribed provides assurance to those interested in a company and its products that they will receive any latest news or information about products which they would like to purchase.

Antioxidants are molecules that reduce the rate of oxidation to cells. The process of producing free radicals is called oxidation. Exposure to sunlight and pollution can increase the growth of free radicals. Cancer, Alzheimer’s and premature ageing are examples of dangerous diseases caused by free radicals. Antioxidant-rich foods and supplements can help to prevent attacks from free radicals. A healthy diet enriched with veggies, fruits, nuts and legumes can provide thousands of different antioxidants. On the other hand, dietary supplements can only give the specific antioxidant you are looking for. These may cause harm to your body if taken in overdose. Researchers and doctors have suggested maintaining a healthy diet rather than taking supplements. However, it is not always possible to consume all antioxidants from your food. In such instances, it is then important to consume supplements.

According to the NYT article, in 4 out of 5 cases, store brands of herbal supplements at GNC, Target, Walgreens and Walmart did NOT contain the herbs listed on their labels. The consumer thinks they are maintaining or improving their health by taking supplements. In reality, they are paying for inexpensive fillers which in some cases may negatively impact their health. How did this happen and how can we protect ourselves?

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) does not require testing of supplements. The system works on an honor code where the manufacturer is only required to verify that their supplements are safe and accurately labeled. Unfortunately for the consumer, supplements can be assumed safe until it is proven that they are unsafe.

Many companies do test their supplements on a voluntary basis to verify the quality, purity, and potency of their product. The United States Pharmacopeial (USP) established standards for supplements as early as 1820. They offer third party verification testing and also conduct audits to make sure companies comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). The National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) provides similar testing and GMP audits. Supplements marked with the USP and NSF labels have been verified by these organizations.
